A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks
He ignores his training and his ethics and finds himself creating major changes in people’s lives – including his own. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they managed to get Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and wanted to audition people who were similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they would have to at least introduce him to Ford first, as they thought he would immediately decline, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been brought into the project, which sparked interest from other big-name actors.

In the end, Goldstein talked to Ford and convinced him to take the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). And the rest of the series is great too.
And Jessica is perfect
He has the weird, goofy energy of confidence required for this role. His humor is perfect for dialogue. It’s the new way of doing situation dramas. No real punchlines, just lovable personalities with a dash of quirkiness and family circumstances that are a little above normal but still relatable.
It’s just impossible
Of course, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. You’d lose your license in an instant. But we allow metaphorical situations in dramas. And in this scenario, we sense a strong determination in the decisions.
Other reviewers seemed to struggle
We have to give the writers a head start and try to get the point. For me, it’s easy and fun.
